Thought this was a great quote for the day!
"The most important thing is you can't write what you wouldn't read for pleasure. It's a mistake to analyze the market thinking you can write whatever is hot. You can't say you're going to write romance when you don't even like it. You need to write what you would read if you expect anybody else to read it."

So true! I've tried. But while I was writing other things, I did learn I could widen my horizons more than I thought. Because some genres are phases or cycles I go through. I almost wrote off romance because I was in my first person chick lit/women's fiction phase. And then I rediscovered my love for romance and I sold.
